Durham County announced on Aug. 11 that a Disaster Recovery Center is open at the Durham County Library North Regional Branch, 221 Milton Road, to assist residents impacted by Tropical Depression Chantal.
Monica Wallace, Clerk to the Board, said the center will operate through Saturday, Aug. 30, at 1 p.m. and will offer in-person help applying for disaster aid and loans, connecting residents with recovery agencies and providing information on available resources. Hours are Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The announcement included a county webpage for more information and contact options through the Durham County Government Call Center.
