Key votes included: approval of the 2026 Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) contract for $3,443.52; acceptance of Criminal Justice Grant #5074302 for body-worn cameras; authorization to apply for the Rio Grande Council of Governments Solid Waste Grant; establishment of Fund 414 and related FY2025 budget adjustments for a HIDTA grant; and approval of several invoices and packets of payments presented by Comptroller Malynda Richardson.
Judge Greg P. Henington presented and the court approved a Mountain Zone invoice estimated at $9,000 and a Marshal McClean invoice for $840. The court also authorized a down payment for a Warren CAT lease purchase, approving up to $175,000 for the CAT maintainer down payment. Most motions were made by Commissioner Ruben Ortega and seconded by Commissioner Sara Allen Colando or Commissioner Jim Westermann; votes were recorded 4-0 throughout the consent package.
Why it matters: The approvals allocate small-to-medium dollar items and grant administration that support county operations ranging from victim notification and body-worn cameras to drug task force funding (HIDTA). The authorized CAT maintainer down payment is the largest single financial commitment recorded in the minutes and will affect equipment availability for county road work.
