Brewster County approves equipment purchases, repairs and budget adjustments including $50,000 maintainer repair

The Brewster County Commissioners Court on Aug. 12 approved a set of equipment purchases and repairs and took routine comptroller actions on payments and adjustments.
Judge Greg P. Henington moved to approve purchase of four adjustable stands for smart boards at $1,800; Commissioner Ruben Ortega seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Henington also moved to approve repair funding for the county maintainer and adjusted the amount to $50,000; that motion passed 5-0. The court approved funding of $5,000 to repair a 2024 dump truck after Commissioner Ortega moved and Commissioner Sara Colando seconded the motion.
On financial items, Commissioner Mo Morrow moved to approve payment of expenses as presented. Commissioner Ortega moved to approve budget/line-item adjustments; the motion included a caveat that the county secure a formal contract for the solar panel grant before related disbursements proceed. Both comptroller motions were passed unanimously, 5-0.
These approvals direct county departments to proceed with repairs and ordered the county’s finance office to process expenses and adjustments consistent with the caveat on the solar panel grant contract. No contested votes or abstentions were recorded.
