Brewster County declares vehicles salvage for online auction and approves tourism advertising contract

At the June 10 meeting Brewster County Commissioners declared three county vehicles — a 1962 GMC 4000, a 2009 Ford F250 and a 2014 Chevrolet 2500 HD — as salvage and eligible for online auction. Commissioner Ruben Ortega moved to declare items (13a–c) salvage, Commissioner William 'Mo' Morrow seconded and the motion passed 5-0. A 2003 Peterbilt was tabled and not included in the online auction action at this time.
Also during the meeting, Robert Alvarez, executive director of Brewster County Tourism, presented a contract for the 'Road Trippin Big Bend National Park 2025' advertising campaign. Commissioner Sara Allen Colando moved to approve the contract as presented; Commissioner Morrow seconded and the motion passed 5-0. A separate promotion, 'Big Bend Blues on the Green 2025,' was noted in the minutes as previously approved in earlier meetings.
The court adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
