Several Madison County board members resign or are reassigned; multiple appointments approved

On Nov. 18 the Madison County Board recorded letters of resignation from three members and approved multiple appointments and reappointments in committee resolutions.
David W. Michael submitted a letter resigning his District 4 seat effective Nov. 30, 2020 after his election to county office; Raymond (Ray) Wesley similarly filed a resignation for his District 6 seat and Thomas McRae submitted a resignation from District 14, both effective Nov. 30. The board placed the letters on file.
The board adopted a resolution appointing David Michael as Clerk of the Madison County Liquor Commission effective Dec. 1, 2020 with annual compensation set at $1,500. The board also appointed Greg Schuette as Acting County Engineer to fill the vacancy resulting from County Engineer Mark Gvillo’s resignation and directed the clerk to transmit certified copies to the Illinois Department of Transportation per statutory procedures.
Multiple board and district appointments were adopted by voice vote, including positions on drainage and levee districts, fire protection and water district trustee reappointments; the Building and Facilities Management Committee also approved the 2021 county holiday schedule.
The board recorded votes adopting the appointments and reappointments; most committee measures were approved unanimously as part of routine business.
