Ambulance repair, NEMA/FEMA repayment question and HVAC quote discussed

Rock County commissioners on Sept. 3 received updates on ambulance repairs, a federal/state funding question and building HVAC recommendations.
Trenton Gurnsey reported that Ambulance Unit 1 is broken and that exhaust sensors are faulty; Main Street Auto is inspecting the vehicle and will provide an estimate for repairs. The board did not take action on repairs during the meeting.
Clerk Daunitta Buoy said NEMA/FEMA will hold a Sept. 17 conference call with the commissioners concerning funds NEMA/FEMA say were double-paid to the county. Buoy said she contacted the State Auditor, who advised that NEMA/FEMA must show how the double payment occurred and that both parties would need to agree before funds are returned.
On facilities, Buoy summarized ProElectric’s recommendation to proceed with the original plan for first-floor mini-splits now and to run duct work to upstairs offices next spring from courtroom A/C; the board tabled the matter pending ProElectric's attendance at a future meeting. Sheriff Ben Shelbourn also met with commissioners to note that text messages are his preferred contact method.
No formal votes were taken on vehicle repairs, repayment claims or the HVAC recommendation at the Sept. 3 session.
