Road foreman reports tree mulcher trial, paving timeline and Carn’s Bridge letting change

W. Reynolds said Jeff Maloun is selling a tree mulcher and that Jeff Reynolds, Colby and Waylon planned to meet with Maloun on Saturday to test the machine for ditch tree removal. Waylon reported he had spoken with Figgins about the WPA/Newport paving project and that Figgins expected to be on-site in roughly two weeks.
The county clerk reported that the Nebraska Department of Transportation moved the letting for Carn’s Bridge from August to October. Commissioners also noted that residents Brian Jordan and Gary Buoy met with the board to discuss concerns about their road area; no formal action was recorded.
The board did not vote on purchase of equipment during the meeting; testing and further inspection were scheduled. No dollar amounts for potential purchases or project contracts were provided in the minutes.
