The Rock County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 1 to certify the county’s 2024–25 property tax levies and associated tax requests, County Clerk Daunitta J. Buoy told the board.
The certified county general levy is 0.327321 per $100 of valuation, producing a county tax request of $2,341,569.05. After the county’s other levies (library, road bond, hospital maintenance and bond, ambulance replacement) the countywide levy totaled 0.422810 and the county tax request totaled $3,024,672.91, Buoy reported.
The board also received and certified levies for local taxing authorities listed in the clerk’s presentation, including Rock County Public Schools (general 0.461235, tax request $3,281,474.32; special building fund 0.063298, tax request $450,336.08; QCPUF 0.028223, tax request $200,793.62), the City of Bassett, village and rural fire districts, the airport and ag society. The clerk presented individual levy rates and dollar tax requests for each entity as part of the certification.
Commissioner Smith moved to certify the levies and Commissioner Sybrant seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
The certification sets the levies and tax requests the county will enter for the 2024–25 fiscal year. No further rate changes were made during the Oct. 1 meeting.
