The Rock County Board of Commissioners approved a $3,024,672.91 property tax request for 2024-25 and adopted the county’s 2024-25 budget and appropriations by unanimous roll call on Sept. 17, 2024.
County Clerk Daunitta Buoy opened a public hearing at 9:17 a.m. and presented an overview of the proposed budget; copies were made available in the clerk’s office. After the hearing closed at 9:32 a.m., the board moved to adopt Resolution 2024-14 (Property Tax Request) and Resolution 2024-15 (Budget Adoption & Appropriations). The motions passed with all three commissioners voting in favor and none opposed.
The approved property tax request is an increase from the 2023-24 request of $2,848,323.72. The board did not record any changes to the proposed budget during the public hearing. Clerk Buoy handled the procedural posting and recordkeeping required under the Open Meetings Law, which the board noted was posted in the commissioner’s room.
The board set the next regular meeting for Oct. 1, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.; no additional deadlines for the budget were announced at the meeting.
