Bedford County Salary Board approves pay rates and appointments for 18 positions

Commissioner JR Winck moved to approve “the wages or as by union contracts for the following personnel based upon the recommendation of their respective department heads as listed for April,” and Melissa Cottle, Secretary/Treasurer, seconded; the motion was approved by the Board. The meeting convened at 10:38 a.m. immediately after the Commissioners’ meeting and was recorded in the official minutes.
The approvals recorded in the minutes include: Janette Ryba, Records Officer at Bedford County Correctional Facility, receiving a longevity rate of $22.7988 per hour for 25 years of service; several part-time and full-time corrections officers were approved with hourly rates ranging roughly from $16.75 to $18.78 and noted as having completed training per union contracts; Danny Weyant was listed as Lieutenant at $20.3350 per hour. The Board also approved Cara Kirn as Caseworker II in Children & Youth with a longevity adjustment, a sheriff’s deputy at $16.00 per hour (per union contract), an HR generalist at $17.50 per hour, a telecommunicator trainee at $14.92 per hour, a full-time Telecommunicator II at $17.5430 per hour, and a Central Court Manager/Jury Coordinator at $18.50 per hour. Effective dates for the personnel actions are included in the minutes; where provided they range from March 16 to April 7, 2025.
The minutes state there was no old business.
