Auditor: FY26 budget changes narrow difference with compensation board; $150,000 E911 land placeholder spans FY25 and FY26

Auditor Leslie Groen reviewed adjustments in the FY26 budget at the Butler County Board of Supervisors meeting on Feb. 18, saying the gap between Compensation Board-recommended wage increases and the 3% raises previously requested equals about $150,000.
Groen said some revenues were adjusted in the workshop and that the county currently has a $150,000 line item for an E911 Tower Land Acquisition Project listed in both FY25 and FY26 because staff do not yet know in which fiscal year the purchase may be completed. Groen said it may be necessary to rework some budget items to reconcile timing and amounts.
The board did not adopt a final FY26 budget at the Feb. 18 meeting; the session discussed the differences and placeholders but did not record formal budget decisions.
