Butler County approves plans for five precast bridges; bids open March 11

County Engineer John Riherd told the Butler County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 18 that engineering plans for five precast concrete bridges are ready and that bids will be opened on March 11, 2025.
Riherd said the five locations are C26W20 (Keystone Ave south of 135th St.), E12N10 (170th St. east of Forest Ave), M07W10 (Franklin Ave north of 300th St.), M19W10 (Franklin Ave north of 320th St.) and N15W10 (Jay Ave north of 310th St.). He estimated the combined cost to cover all five bridges at around $815,000 and noted two of the bridges are shared with Franklin County and will have costs apportioned accordingly.
Supervisor Greg Barnett moved to approve the plans as presented; Wayne Dralle seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously to approve the plans (all ayes).
Riherd also provided a brief engineer’s update noting spring construction preparations and potential staffing changes in Secondary Roads. The board did not take additional action beyond approving the plans at the Feb. 18 meeting.
