Butler County engineer reports bids under estimate for overlay and bridge projects

Butler County Engineer John Riherd updated supervisors on recent highway work and bidding during the Feb. 25 meeting.
Riherd said the county held a bid letting for a deck overlay south of Unverferth on T55 and for three additional bridges on T25. Five bids were received; three came in under the engineer's estimated total of approximately $1,223,000. Riherd told the board he will provide full details of the winning bid and contractor selection at a future meeting.
Riherd also said Secondary Roads crew have road maintenance training scheduled. The board did not take immediate action beyond receiving the update.
