On Sept. 1, 2022 the Soddy‑Daisy Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt Resolution No. 3 to transfer $1,724,122 in American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds allocated by the Tennessee Department of Conservation (TDEC) to the Water & Wastewater Treatment Authority (WWTA). City Manager Johnson explained the city does not own utilities, and the transfer enables the WWTA to use the funds for wastewater infrastructure projects within the city.
Commissioner Shipley said some of the funds will be used to repair issues around Depot Street. The motion was made by Vice‑Mayor Cothran, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, and recorded as unanimous.
