Spencer County adopts Silo Farms streets into county road system

Spencer County Fiscal Court voted on March 3 to adopt Ordinance No. 18 (Fiscal Year 2025 Series), formally adding the remaining roads in the Silo Farms subdivision to the county-maintained road system. The vote followed a finding from the county’s engineering firm that the roads met current specifications.
Esq. Stump moved to adopt the ordinance and Esq. Pharris seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote: Esqs. Stump, Pharris, Travis and Judge/Executive Scott Travis voted aye; Esqs. Cotton and Eldridge were absent. Judge Travis declared the motion passed.
The ordinance lists the accepted road segments as Reagan Drive (1,859.28 ft, 0.352 mi), Ford Court (315.63 ft, 0.0598 mi) and Bush Court (449.43 ft, 0.085 mi). The adoption completes bonding requirements for the subdivision and places long-term maintenance responsibility with the county. The ordinance record shows the item received first reading on Feb. 17, 2025, and was given second reading and adopted on March 3, 2025.
The court did not record any amendments to the ordinance during the hearing. The adoption takes effect as recorded in the minutes; the county accepted responsibility for maintenance of the named streets following the recorded inspections and bond releases.
