Spencer County approves 50¢ pay increase for hourly employees, rejects pavilion bids and approves parks RTV purchase

The Fiscal Court on June 16 approved county-wide hourly pay raises and several procurement items.
Pay increase: The court approved a 50¢ per hour raise for all full-time and part-time hourly county employees (and the emergency management director), effective on the first pay date in July. The motion was made by Esq. Cotton and seconded by Esq. Travis and carried with all members present voting "aye." Meeting materials included a detailed pay-rate table.
Farmers Market/Pavilion: The court rejected all bids on the Farmers Market/Pavilion project and directed a rebid with changes. In addition, Judge Travis proposed an amendment — adopted by the court — requiring bidders to submit a separate price for the front building and a bid for the entire project.
Parks vehicle purchase: The parks department sought bids for a replacement RTV. The court approved the purchase of a 2025 Polaris Ranger from Lexington Motorsports not to exceed $18,193.96 and specified that the purchase not occur until after July 1. Several vendor quotes were in the packet, with Lexington Motorsports the low quoted vendor.
All procurement actions were recorded as motions with roll-call votes; the parks acquisition included vendor quotes and a condition on purchase timing to match fiscal-year budgeting.
