The Fiscal Court unanimously approved a WRIS draw #6 payment of $48,670.24 for the Spencer County Sanitation District and adopted a resolution supporting Representative James Allen Tipton’s request to the Kentucky General Assembly for an additional $5.2 million to expand and improve sanitary sewer service in Spencer County.
Court materials describe the county’s growth and argue that expanded sewer service will support housing, schools, industry and public health. The resolution notes a prior 2024 allocation of $10,050,000 to the county in conjunction with the Sanitation District and requests further legislative funding to continue expansion.
The motion to approve the WRIS draw was moved by Esq. Travis and seconded by Esq. Stump with all members present voting "aye." The resolution was adopted on the same motion record.
