Spencer County Judge Executive Scott Travis issued an executive order setting regular Fiscal Court meeting dates and times for calendar year 2026, and the court approved a change to personnel accrual dates at the Dec. 15 meeting.
The executive order sets Fiscal Court meetings in the Fiscal Court meeting room at 28 East Main Street, Taylorsville: the first Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., with automatic rescheduling rules if those days fall on holidays or during a declared emergency. The court voted to adopt the executive order.
The court also approved amendments to Chapter 5 of the county personnel policy to change the effective accrual date for vacation, sick and personal leave from February 1 to January 1. County Attorney Corey Thomas explained the switch was intended to align accrual dates with the county’s timekeeping and payroll practices; the change was approved by voice vote.
Judge Travis additionally authorized advertising to fill a vacancy in the Judge’s office created when Katlyn accepted the Treasurer position; the court approved posting for the vacated position.
