The Fiscal Court on Jan. 5 approved purchasing a Turf Tiger mower for the parks department at a cost of $15,443.22 after the parks director said existing equipment was beyond repair and spring approaches. Motion by Esq. Pharris passed by voice vote with Judge Travis absent.
Separately, the Court discussed animal-control vehicle issues. The judge proposed removing the kennel unit from a truck and replacing it with a flat bed so the vehicle could be reassigned to another department. The animal-control director currently transports animals in an SUV and the sheriff noted Animal Control had previously received the K-9 vehicle. No formal action was taken on the animal-control truck during the meeting.
