Simpson County Fiscal Court on March 18 approved routine financial business including a $27,697.04 transfer from the Federal Grant Fund to the General Fund, numerous intra-department budget transfers, and a ledger of bills and claims presented by county staff.
The court approved budget transfers that moved funds among line items for county clerk benefits, sheriff salaries and retirement matches, and fire department staffing and fleet maintenance, among others. The minutes list vendors and payments presented for approval, including notable entries such as Sunbelt Construction ($272,007.89) and Comprehensive Correctional Care ($48,081.84). The February financial statement was accepted subject to audit, with the County Judge and County Treasurer authorized to sign.
The court unanimously approved an agreement with Mid America Health to provide monthly portable dental services at the county jail after Jailer Eric Vaughn said the vendor provides cleanings and tooth extractions and is competitively priced compared with alternatives in the region. The County Judge Executive was authorized to sign the contract.
Separately, the court acknowledged receipt of the Simpson County Soil Conservation District’s annual budget request of $100,000 for record-keeping; no appropriation action on that request was recorded at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with an executive session for pending litigation and personnel matters and an adjournment at 10:00 a.m.
