County Attorney Kevin Shearer read amended Ordinance 05-08/25-03 (dog ordinance) and highlighted a new fee for owner surrenders of dogs. He also read amended Ordinance 92-1/25-02 (solid waste ordinance), which adds a requirement that anyone hauling garbage in an open vehicle secure the load with a tarp and reduces the nuisance-notice requirement from two certified letters to one. Magistrate Terry Waddell moved to adopt the dog ordinance and Magistrate Garner moved to adopt the solid waste ordinance; both motions passed unanimously.
The ordinances take effect under the county's normal ordinance-adoption procedures. Officials did not provide detailed enforcement timelines during the meeting; County Attorney Shearer read the changes into the record and the court approved them.
