Kittitas County commissioners hear Chamber's 2025 report; board asks chamber to coordinate Yakima River signage

Kittitas County commissioners met with the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 27, 2026, to hear the chamber's 2025 annual report and an economic development "Year in Review." Chairman Cory Wright opened the special meeting at 1:30 p.m., and the session ended at 2:31 p.m.
Amy McGuffin, executive director of the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, presented the report and reviewed progress by the chamber's Associate Development Organization on several projects, including Thorp Mill, CEDS outreach, the Small Business Development Center partnership, the State of the Community review, America 250 and workforce development. McGuffin said work is ongoing on the county's Economic Development Strategy and that the chamber hosted a public meeting that drew about 15 to 20 people; she said the next public meeting is scheduled for Feb. 3 in Cle Elum.
McGuffin also announced that the Choose Kittitas County website is live and encouraged commissioners to review it. The commissioners directed McGuffin to contact Sheriff Myers and Public Works Director Josh Ferguson to coordinate implementation steps for the Yakima River Access Plan, including signage information and placement locations.
