Fleming County Fiscal Court approves routine appointments, hires and departmental reports

The Fleming County Fiscal Court approved a series of routine administrative items on Sept. 10, including appointments, monthly reports and a part‑time hire.
The Court appointed Dustyn Doyle and reappointed Johnny James to four‑year terms on the Fleming County Cemetery Board effective Sept. 21, 2024 through Sept. 21, 2028; both appointments were approved unanimously. The Court also approved the Fleming County Public Library annual report presented by Director Wendy Johnston and accepted monthly reports from the Fleming County Clerk and the Sheriff’s office.
The Court approved hiring Lisa Kennedy as a part‑time transport officer and heard from Dispatch Director Shawn Royse, who said an additional part‑time telecommunicator is still needed. Deputy Cooper presented the sheriff’s report; Jarrod Fritz, Fleming County Clerk, reviewed the absentee and early voting schedule.
These routine approvals and staffing actions were handled by unanimous votes during the regular meeting.
