County staff to review Rodeo Arena change order; $5,000 emergency fund amendment proposed

At the Jan. 15 finance study session, staff discussed several other-business items including a change order for the Rodeo Arena and a small emergency fund allocation.
Patti Stacey said she received Change Order Package (COP) #12-15 for the Rodeo Arena that day and is scheduled to meet the contractor on Jan. 16; Commissioners Osiadacz and Wright asked Stacey to review which items are necessary now and which can be deferred. No action was taken during the study session on the change order.
Separately, County Administrator Zack DeHaven proposed allocating $5,000 in the Emergency Management fund to cover costs from emergency situations that occur prior to an official declaration. DeHaven said he will return to the next finance study session with a budget amendment for the $5,000 allocation.
Why it matters: the Rodeo Arena is a county capital project where change orders can affect schedule and budgets; a small emergency allocation would permit immediate, limited spending to respond to incidents that arise before a formal emergency declaration is processed.
