ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. — Commissioners on Nov. 21 approved a series of budget amendments for the County General Fund and the Solid Waste Fund, passed unanimously on roll call.
The County General Fund package (Resolution 6) — moved by Diana Lovell and seconded by Calton Blacker — included multiple departmental adjustments and a transfer of $289,022.85 from fund balance to cover an extra payroll in fiscal year 2022–2023 (to account for the bi‑weekly payroll schedule). The amendments included line‑items for the County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Juvenile Court, libraries, sheriff’s department lines and an allocation to cover insurance premium increases. The motion passed 12–0.
A separate Solid Waste Fund amendment (Resolution 7) — moved by Eugene O. Evans Sr., seconded by Bill Powers — moved tipping‑fee revenues to cover payroll and benefit lines and accounted for one extra payroll in 2022–2023; it passed 12–0.
