Commission approves zone change for Hwy 49 East parcel to C1
Summary
After a brief public hearing and a comment in favor, commissioners voted 11–0 to rezone Map 25, Parcel 2 from E1 to C1 for property on Hwy 49 East in the 3rd Voting District.
Cheatham County commissioners unanimously approved a request Sept. 18 to rezone a parcel on Highway 49 East from E1 (residential) to C1 (commercial).
The public hearing for the request from Tanya Strum covered Map 25, Parcel 2 in the county's 3rd Voting District; the property is not in a Special Flood Hazard Area. During the hearing, Steven Hudson spoke in favor of the zone change. The commission voted 11–0 in favor of the rezoning.
Why it matters: Rezoning from residential to commercial can change the permitted uses, tax classifications and future development potential for the property and the surrounding area.
