The approvals included authorization for the mayor to sign the Three-Star application and related fiscal confirmations, a contract with Better Business Equipment Co. for Animal Control equipment, a Clark Power Services preventative maintenance agreement for generators, a Madison County Juvenile Detention contract, and agreements with MBI Companies for renovations to the Election Commission and UT Extension offices. The commission also ratified a prior correction to the county's Hotel/Motel tax resolution and authorized surplus and disposal of an Animal Control copier.
A separate discussion on purchasing a generator from the School Board for Animal Control led to rescinding the initial motion and then voting to defer the decision until the August commission meeting to gather more information. The minutes record that the item was added to the agenda earlier in the meeting but that commissioners wanted additional detail before committing funds.
