Mayor authorized to sign surveillance-equipment agreement, copier and probation contracts, and architect agreement for health-department renovations

At the May 15 meeting, the Legislative Body authorized County Mayor Kerry McCarver to sign multiple agreements on behalf of Cheatham County.

The approved contracts and authorizations included: a Surveillance Equipment License Agreement with Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation that outlines terms to attach surveillance equipment to Licensor poles (site-by-site licensing, make-ready work, and insurance and indemnity requirements noted in the contract text); a RJ Young sales/contract order for office equipment for UT Extension (email chain and sales order appear in the meeting packet); a sales/maintenance agreement with Better Business Solutions for a Sharp copier/printer for the probation office; and an architect agreement with Joshua A. Wright for renovations at the Cheatham County Health Department (AIA B101-style agreement included in the packet, with scope elements such as interior renovations, new exterior electronic sign, canopy installation and mechanical work identified in the exhibit).

Commissioners approved the mayor's signature on these agreements by roll call vote (11–0 with one absence). Several of the contract exhibits were provided in the packet and referenced during the mayor's presentation; the Surveillance Equipment License Agreement includes clauses requiring (among other items noted in the contract text) site-specific approval, make-ready costs, and minimum insurance terms for licensees.

The county attorney noted pending attorney review for some agreements before final execution where recorded in the packet. Approvals granted here allow the mayor to execute the documents subject to any required follow-up (e.g., attorney review noted for some contracts).

Speakers who presented the items included County Mayor Kerry McCarver and committee members who moved and seconded the motions. The full set of contract documents and the architect agreement are included in the meeting packet and were referenced in the official resolutions.

Next steps: County staff will complete any required attorney reviews, obtain required signatures, and proceed with procurement and scheduling under the terms of each agreement.
