Cheatham County honors Emily Williams as county's first known female Eagle Scout

Emily's Eagle Scout project surveyed Brewer's Chapel Cemetery in the Thomasville community. The project updated records for 181 graves, documented 100 interments with photographs and GPS coordinates, and identified 15 previously unmarked graves. The project resulted in a 254‑page report with a cemetery map and supporting documentation, which the minutes say was accepted by the State of Tennessee Cemetery Commission and earned a Certificate of Merit from the State Historical Commission.
Commissioners approved a resolution recognizing Williams' achievement and the community-value of her project. The resolution was adopted by voice vote during the April meeting.
