Brian Richards presented the problem to council, saying the town identified the reverse flow and recommended replacement of the affected infrastructure. He gave the cost estimate at $129,000, which includes subsequent street repair after construction. Councilmember Cory Johnson moved to approve the work and Lora Jones seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Council documents and staff comments indicated confidence that replacing the three manholes and the identified length of pipe will resolve the reverse-flow issue, with some additional small fixes noted during the assessment. The council did not attach additional conditions to the approval.
