Sevier County backs multi-jurisdictional Safe Streets planning effort to pursue SS4A grant

Sevier County commissioners voted May 19 to endorse the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) initiative and to authorize the county to proceed with the grant planning stage alongside three cities.
Director of Grants and Special Projects Andrew Temple told the commission that approval allows county staff and consultants to complete corridor planning work recommended by the consulting firm and to continue coordination with district representatives. Temple said the next phase will either implement projects or continue planning along the cities' and county corridors, and the resolution signals continued local commitment to roadway safety efforts.
Commissioner R. Ogle moved the resolution; G. Ogle seconded. The motion passed by roll call vote 23 Yes, 0 No, 2 Absent.
