Sevier County adopts new official seal and flag after rebranding process

Sevier County commissioners voted May 19 to adopt an official county seal and flag developed through a rebranding process that included an RFQ, public surveys, focus groups and interviews.
Director of Public Affairs and Communications Tyler Basler told the commission the project began in early 2024 with leadership from Angela Atchley and attracted about 15 firms, including out-of-state and international respondents; the county selected Chandler Thinks of Franklin to synthesize public input. Basler said the chosen artwork keeps the courthouse and mountains to honor the former logo while adding a modernized design the county anticipates using for years to come.
Commissioner Rick Valentine thanked Basler, Angela Atchley, county department heads and members of the public for participating in the process. The resolution to adopt the official Sevier County seal and flag passed by roll call vote 23 Yes, 0 No, 2 Absent.
