Adams County approves $1.98 million Danekas Road overlay project

The board recorded an estimated total project cost of $1,975,000, of which $1,820,000 is identified for contract construction, $80,000 for preliminary engineering and $75,000 for construction engineering.
Interim Director Yaeger provided project-level details and told the board the county intends to follow standard State of Washington road and bridge specifications and proceed with right-of-way and contract preparations. The resolution lists an estimated construction start date of June 2026 and an estimated date of completion in December 2031.
The project is part of a broader public works program the county discussed at the meeting, which also included updates on the Gottlieb-Hille project, Schoonover Road funding distribution, the Herman Road Safety project and the High Volume Corridor work. Yaeger said the county is coordinating timing and funding information for those efforts.
No public comment was recorded on the Danekas project during the meeting. The board took the formal vote during open session; two commissioners present voted to approve (the vice-chair was absent). The resolution and project specifications were entered into the meeting record.
