Franklin County committee forwards multiple resolutions, lease and notary applications to full commission

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners Legislative Committee on March 5, 2020, approved forwarding several resolutions and administrative items to the full commission, and adjourned at 6:28 p.m.
Among the items the committee sent to the full commission were: a Resolution Supporting Second Amendment Rights of the U.S. Constitution (motion by Chuck Stines, second by Johnny Hughes; recorded as 'all ayes'); a grouped package identified in the minutes as Resolution C‑I (motion by Barbara Finney, second by Chuck Stines; all ayes); a resolution authorizing the county mayor to execute a quit claim deed conveying Franklin County's interest in an unclaimed roadway (motion by Chuck Stines, second by Johnny Hughes; all ayes); and a resolution authorizing the county mayor to execute a lease agreement with Crow Creek Valley Community Center, INC. for a convenience center in Sherwood, TN (motion by Johnny Hughes, second by Chuck Stines; all ayes).
The committee also voted to forward forty-seven (47) notary applications to the full commission on a motion by Barbara Finney seconded by Johnny Hughes. The Road Bridge Committee 2020 schedule was removed from the agenda and not acted on.
Chairman David Eldridge explained the committee's duties for visitors and, because of heavy attendance, moved the meeting to the County Commission Room. The meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m. and adjourned at 6:28 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Barbara Finney and second by Commissioner Johnny Hughes.
Why it matters: the items forwarded to the full commission include policy statements, property conveyance paperwork and a local lease that will move to the next step of formal consideration by the full governing body.
