Franklin County commission moves dozens of routine budget amendments, appointments and approvals in Jan. 17 meeting

The Franklin County Commission used its Jan. 17 regular session to dispose of a large packet of routine fiscal and administrative items including budget amendments, board appointments, notary applications, and committee reports.
Finance Director Andrea Smith’s monthly reports and Trustee interest and sales‑tax recaps were received and filed. The commission approved a slate of combined budget amendments for county, highway, solid‑waste and school funds that county staff said were needed to align appropriations with current obligations. Several school budget amendments, board of education requests and grant adjustments were approved by roll call.
The commission approved appointments and reappointments as listed in the agenda packet, and accepted the Finance and Legislative committee minutes and other department reports. Notary commissions and routine administrative items were approved by voice or roll call; the meeting adjourned shortly after the combined business was completed.
