At the Nov. 25 meeting the Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved several personnel and schedule items from the agenda.
Nominations and appointments: Commissioner Sam Davison moved to nominate Chris Hawkersmith for District 7 Seat B (noted in the record as having finished second in the most recent election); the motion was seconded by Commissioner Anderson and approved by voice vote. Commissioner Glenn Summers moved to nominate Jimmy Daniels for 6th District constable; Commissioner S. Riddle seconded and the nomination was approved by voice vote.
Notaries and boards: Commissioners approved eight notary public applications and accepted several board and committee appointments and reappointments that appear in packet attachments. The meeting packet lists individual notary names and addresses as part of the record.
Schedule change: On a motion by S. Riddle and second by B. McMillan, commissioners approved an agenda item setting the 2025 Franklin County Board of Commissioners meeting start time to 6:00 p.m. beginning in January 2025. The commission also approved the 2025 budget calendar, finance and legislative committee schedules and other standard meeting schedules.
What happens next: the clerk will record the seating change and notary approvals in the official minutes and update the commission calendar to reflect the January 2025 start-time change.
