The Finance Committee recommended the fielding of a special finance meeting and the transfer of ARP dollars to cover five months of operational shortfall; the commission then approved the $50,000 allocation by roll call. In addition, the commission authorized formation of a 5–7 commissioner study committee charged with reviewing the long‑term sustainability and governance of ambulance services in the county.
Commission records show the ARP transfer is intended as temporary bridge funding while the committee convenes and researches options that could include changes to service contracts, county budget support, or other governance structures. The commission suspended rules to allow a special finance meeting before the next regularly scheduled commission session so funding could be approved promptly.
County staff will coordinate the committee’s work and report findings back to the full commission for policy or budget action.
