The packet included a resolution and a budget amendment (Resolution 7d‑0724) authorizing the county to record a revenue contribution from the E‑911 Board and to appropriate $175,000 to capital outlay for E‑911. The Finance Director’s amendment transferred the contribution into the Other General Capital Projects account with a matching capital outlay line for E‑911 equipment and property acquisition.
The resolution explains that the E‑911 Board determined it was preferable for the county to own the land, tower and communication devices used for 911 services rather than renting. The item was introduced by commissioners and the County Mayor; the minutes show the board authorized the mayor and finance director to proceed with acquiring property located at 1023 Keith Springs Mtn. Road, Belvidere, TN, using E‑911 Board funds up to the stated amount.
The appropriation and cooperative agreement were recorded in the minutes and placed in the county file. County staff and E‑911 officials will coordinate the property purchase and equipment transfers under the terms of the agreement.
