Dickson County Commission approves property conveyance, interlocal agreement and committee appointments

At its Dec. 15 regular meeting the Dickson County Commission authorized conveyance of about 1.20 acres from Harpeth Ridge Volunteer Fire Department with a leaseback, approved an interlocal agreement to retain Shauna Atchison as the county 911 director, appointed two members to the Agricultural Committee and approved several routine items.
County Mayor Bob Rial called the Dickson County Commission to order Dec. 15 in the Buford L. (Booty) Reed Jr County Commission Chamber in Charlotte, Tennessee.
The commission unanimously approved the minutes of the Nov. 17, 2025 meeting after a motion from Commissioner Dwight McIllwain and a second from Commissioner Mike Petty.
The meeting’s most substantive actions came under two resolutions. The commission passed Resolution 12-2025-01, which authorizes the county mayor to accept conveyance of approximately 1.20 acres along Highway 49 E from the Harpeth Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, construct a building on the parcel and lease the building back to the department. Commissioner Stacey Batey moved the resolution; Commissioner Dwight McIllwain seconded. The motion passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
