CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners narrowly adopted new county regulations governing health and safety standards for residential and non-residential properties on Feb. 18, approving a measure that assigns investigations to the Cumberland County Codes Department and enforcement authority to the Health and Safety Standards Board.
Commissioner Nancy Hyder moved to adopt resolution 02-2025-22, and Commissioner Deborah Holbrook seconded. The measure prompted debate from commissioners and residents who said the rules could affect property owners' privacy and impose new enforcement burdens.
