The Claiborne County Commission approved Resolution 2020-089 on Sept. 21 to amend the General Fund budget to record a $500,000 HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) 2019 grant awarded by the state. The resolution states the funds will be used to help rebuild or rehabilitate homes found to be below housing standards and specifies that no local tax dollars are involved.
Commissioner Mitchell Cosby moved the resolution and the minutes record the motion carried by roll-call vote. The resolution directs the county to increase revenue in account 46980 (Other State Grants) by $500,000 and to increase expenditures in account 58130-791 (HUD Other Construction) by the same amount.
