The Northumberland County Economic Development Commission elected Maurice Johnson as chair and approved a slate of procedural items at its Jan. 21, 2026 meeting.
The commission, presided over by the EDC Executive Director until the new chair was seated, nominated Maurice Johnson and approved his election unanimously. Melissa (last name not stated in the record) was nominated and elected vice chair by unanimous vote.
The panel moved quickly through routine governance matters. Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the bylaws as presented and to approve a Remote Participation Policy intended to govern remote attendance. The commission also adopted its 2026 meeting schedule — third Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted — and approved the November 2025 meeting minutes.
An amendment to the agenda changed the term “Co-Chair” to “Vice Chair” before members approved the amended agenda unanimously.
The actions establish the commission’s leadership and procedural framework for 2026 and set the calendar and participation rules staff will use going forward. No dissenting votes were recorded during these housekeeping items.
The commission adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
