At its June 24 meeting, the Bland County Board of Supervisors approved routine budget and administrative items, authorized grading work at the county fairgrounds, and adopted year-end transfers and trash adjustments.
The consent agenda — approved unanimously on a motion by Supervisor Stephen Kelley, seconded by Patrick Groseclose — included minutes of previous meetings, payrolls of $138,770.95 (May 30) and $140,250.86 (June 16), bills for May and June 2025 totaling $111,819.04 and $269,177.21, and appropriation of the Social Services April local allotment of $60,971.10 as well as the Bland County School Board's July requisition for $1,141,146.10.
Following public comment from Robert Stuart requesting grading work at the fairgrounds, the Board approved the fairground grading on a motion by Keith Costello, seconded by Patrick Groseclose. The Board also approved trash adjustments for May–June 2025 totaling $4,872.79 (motion by Stephen Kelley, seconded by Patrick Groseclose) and adopted FY25 transfers and supplements that appropriated $1,500 to Community Development lines (motion by Patrick Groseclose, seconded by Stephen Kelley).
