Planning commission approves C & D Products subdivision to allow sale to building lessee

The Tazewell County Planning Commission approved a subdivision Jan. 11 that will carve 1.828 acres, including a building leased to Arcet Equipment, from a larger roughly 30-acre parcel owned by C & D Products so the lessee can purchase the building and lot.
Malcolm Crews, listed as a visitor, presented the subdivision application and provided the owner’s address. Kenneth Dunford, director of county engineering, recommended approval provided the applicant submit the required permit and subdivision fees; Dunford identified the combined fees at $109. County Attorney Chase Collins also recommended approval pending payment of the appropriate fees.
The commission approved the subdivision upon motion by Vice-Chairman Robert "Bob" Moss, seconded by Member Jason Herndon. The vote was recorded 6 to 0 with Member Lance Wimmer absent.
Action details: the approval is conditioned on submission of the stated fees; staff recorded payment and the matter was noted as paid on Jan. 17, 2024 (Check #5149).
