Road Committee to inspect Wandering Trail after residents petition for orphan-road status

Kenneth Dunford Jr., the county's Director of Engineering, told the Tazewell County Planning Commission on Feb. 8 that he had received "a petition to incorporate Wandering Trail into the Tazewell County Orphan Road System." He said the Road Committee will meet Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, to view the road and prepare recommendations for the Planning Commission.
No formal vote was recorded on the floor during the Feb. 8 meeting; the action taken in the meeting record is coordination for a Road Committee site visit and a return recommendation. The commission will consider the Road Committee's findings at a subsequent meeting and may take further action then.
