The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team voted March 25 to enter a closed session to discuss individual cases and funding before returning to open session and approving funding.
Jeff Brintle moved that the CPMT go into closed session to discuss foster care, Child Protective Services (CPS), Cumberland Court Services, Tazewell County Schools cases and related funding. The motion was seconded by Ryan Thomas and carried. The CPMT then certified the closed meeting under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and Code of Virginia §§2.2-3711 and 2.2-3712, recording a vote of AYES 7, NAYS 0, ABSENT 2 (Roberta Boyd and Shanna Plaster).
After the closed session, Jeff Brintle moved to approve funding to be provided for the discussed foster care, CPS, Cumberland Court Services and school cases; Robin Jackson seconded and the motion was unanimously carried.
The minutes record the votes and the certification language but do not disclose the confidential case details discussed in closed session.
The CPMT adjourned at 12:00 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
