Tazewell County CPMT approves minutes, financial reports, policy timing change and case funding

At its Oct. 28 meeting, the Tazewell County CPMT and FAPT unanimously approved meeting minutes, multiple financial reports, WRAP and Safe & Stable fund actions, revised CSA reimbursement time frames per OCS Administrative Memorandum #24‑06, and authorized funding for services discussed in a closed session.
The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team and Family Assessment and Planning Team met jointly on Oct. 28 and approved a slate of routine and programmatic actions, including meeting minutes, financial reports and a policy timing revision that implements portions of an Office of Children's Services administrative memorandum.
Lori Gates‑Addison moved to approve the Sept. 23, 2024 CPMT minutes; David Taylor seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Roberta Boyd moved to approve the Sept. FY 2024 Financial Report (seconded by Jeff Brintle) and David Taylor moved to approve the Sept. FY 2025 Financial Report (seconded by Casandra Addair); both motions carried unanimously.
Members approved encumbered WRAP funds for July 1, 2023–June 30, 2024 (motion by Roberta Boyd, seconded by Melinda Smith) and noted a $0 allocation for encumbered WRAP funds for July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025. The Sept. 30, 2024 Safe & Stable Funds were approved on a motion by Jeff Brintle, seconded by Angela Steele.
The group reviewed OCS Administrative Memorandum #24‑06 (revisions to Policy 4.5.2 regarding time frames for CSA pool fund reimbursement, effective Oct. 1, 2024). Roberta Boyd moved to revise the local CSA Policies and Procedures Manual to reflect the updated time frames; Jeff Brintle seconded and the motion unanimously passed. The CPMT agreed to a biennial policy review process and will review Part I (pages 1–23) on Nov. 25, 2024.
Shelby Mitchell moved that the CPMT go into closed session to discuss foster care, CPS, Cumberland, court services and Tazewell County Schools cases and funding for services; David Taylor seconded and the motion carried. The CPMT certified the closed meeting under Code of Virginia §§2.2‑3711 and 2.2‑3712 with a recorded vote of AYES 7, NAYS 0, ABSENT 3. After reconvening in open session, Jeff Brintle moved and David Taylor seconded approval of funding to be provided for Foster Care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools for services for the discussed cases; the motion carried unanimously.
The coordinator reminded members of OCS training resources and the scheduled Nov. 14 'FAPT and CPMT Roles and Responsibilities' training. The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.; the next CPMT meeting is scheduled for Nov. 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
