CPMT reviews permanency support providers, urges close monitoring of Medicaid billing

At the Jan. 27 Tazewell County CPMT meeting, members reviewed an Office of Children’s Services comparison report and discussed the county’s use of community-based 'permanency support' or 'care coordination' services.
The packet included OCS reports by service placement type for FY2025 and a locality SPT report. Members discussed categories of services such as community-based and wraparound services and reviewed Tazewell County Medicaid billings for FY2024 and year-to-date 2025.
Members identified Clarvida, OEI and Health Connect America as three providers most often used by the county. Lori Gates-Addison urged that FAPT and CPMT closely monitor Medicaid billing and warned that a provider’s program name can be misleading as to what is billable. Members said they review provider rate sheets and descriptions during approval of individual service plans and will continue monitoring to ensure compliance with Medicaid billing rules.
No formal action on providers or rates was recorded at the meeting; CPMT will continue to review service packages and billing at future monthly meetings.
