The General Registrar reported to the Lunenburg County Electoral Board that the county’s registered voter total rose to 8,244 at the end of September, an increase of 39 from August.
The Registrar said 20 of those new registrants came from a registration drive held at Central High School, and reported ongoing progress on a 'page' program that would allow high-school students to serve at polling places on Election Day. Board members discussed parity and staffing for election officials during the November election roster presentation.
Chairman Donna Dagner and the Registrar reviewed outreach and training responsibilities for the remaining weeks before the election, and the Registrar noted that training will address changes including the treatment of driver privilege cards and new chain-of-custody procedures.
The board adjourned at 6:06 p.m.
