Craig County board honors outgoing supervisor, confirms several appointments and hears 2025 audit

The Craig County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 4 adopted a resolution of appreciation for outgoing Supervisor Jason Matyas, reappointed Nicole Zimmerman to the Craig County Tourism Commission and ratified the Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare Board's nomination of Patrick Kenney.
R25-84, the resolution honoring Matyas for service to the Simmonsville District and listing his committee work, passed with Matyas recorded as abstaining. R25-85 reappointing Nicole Zimmerman to the tourism commission for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026, passed unanimously. R25-86 ratifying Patrick Kenney as an at-large member of the Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare board for a three-year term (Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2028) was approved with one abstention recorded for Jordan Labiosa.
Also on the agenda, auditor Scott Wickham presented the county's 2025 RFC audit results and noted copies are available in the administration office. The board accepted the audit presentation; no formal audit action was recorded in the minutes.
The board approved an eight-hour allocation for court staff on Jan. 2, 2026, as part of its holiday schedule motions and heard several briefings including the county website preview and VDOT updates.
